Modern Strategies Effectiveness in The Discovery of Antibiotics

 

Egyptian scientist Dr. Omar El-Halfawy, Professor of Antibacterial Research and Genetic Chemistry at the University of Regina, Canada, delivered a valuable lecture at PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy. The lecture tackled the advanced methods and strategies for developing antibiotics, how to evaluate them, and evaluate their effectiveness. It also tackled the key obstacles that hinder the development of modern antimicrobials, and how to address them. As well as the problem of microbial resistance to some antibiotics.

This lecture was attended by Dr. Maged Al-Ghazouly, Dean, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Etman, Vice-Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Rasha Shaalan, Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, heads of departments, faculty members, and teaching assistants. Furthermore, the lecture included numerous discussions on this important issue, which is already affecting the pharmaceutical sector and the efficiency of patient healthcare.
