Electrical Engineering Department at PUA :

Electrical Engineering

Overview, Aim, and Objectives:

The Electrical Engineering Department at PUA is currently offering two programs:

Electronics & Communications – Electric Power & Control, i.e. graduating two categories of engineers that compete successfully in the market.

The role of Electric Power & Control Engineers in today’s world is fast evolving. The area of Power Engineering will show advanced technology progress in the incoming years due to renewable and green energy technologies, sustainability, and Smart Grids. Motivated by such emerging directions, PUA is providing EE graduates with such advanced tools to highly compete in the market.

On the other hand, the area of Electronics and Communications is leading the future of all engineering disciplines due to high demands for IoT, high performance computers, robot vision, and artificial intelligence. EE department offers essential knowledge
to all graduates to pursue hands on and research in such advanced areas.

The Electrical Engineering department at Pharos University in Alexandria aims providing enrolled students with distinguished and advanced intellectual skills, hands on experience, and necessary field training to let graduates reach out social and industrial needs and satisfy needs of the labor market. Interpersonal communications and team work activities are mandatory to all EE students.

The department also encourages students to improve innovation, self-realization, lifelong education, and entrepreneurial skills.

Following the first year, where basic science courses and engineering perspective are taught, prospective Electrical Engineers start their journey in the EE department studying general electrical courses for two consecutive semesters.

The next three years (six semesters) provides students with necessary knowledge regarding the two different specializations. In Power and Control track, topics related to electric power generation, power distribution, electric machines, analog and digital control, and PLC are taught.

On the other side, Electronics and Communications program offers graduates a variety of topics including: analog
and digital communications, communication systems, mobile communications, analog and digital circuits, integrated circuits, acoustics, communication and computer networks, signal and image processing, biomedical engineering.
