Dear Students,

We have an important announcement regarding the viewing of your midterm exam papers – Spring 2024 We are pleased to inform you that starting from Monday 15/04/2024 – Week (10) you will have the opportunity to review your graded midterm exam papers in your F2F session. This initiative is aimed at providing you with valuable feedback and insights into your performance, enabling you to identify areas of strength and areas that may require improvement.

While reviewing your papers, you will have the opportunity to seek clarification on any questions or concerns you may have regarding the grading or feedback provided. The instructor will be available to address your queries and provide additional explanations if required.

In addition to the review The center offers academic support, including Extra Tasks ( Remedial Classes ) and Office Hours, to assist you in further enhancing your understanding of the course material.

We encourage you to be keen on attending this week to view your midterm exams opportunity which won’t be available after this week.

Kindly note that your “WEEK 10 – Session 1 “will be only available online on Blackboard. The sessions will be posted on Sunday 14th April and will be available for submission till Tuesday 16th April at 11:59 pm. , your session 2 will run again normally according to your normal schedule and timing. Kindly note that your “WEEK 9” lectures will be only available online on Blackboard. The sessions will be posted on Sunday 7th April at 7:00 AM and will be available for submission till Saturday 13th April at 11:59 pm.

In “WEEK 10″ , your sessions will run again normally face-to-face and online according to your normal schedule. E1 (8:30 – 11:00 ) or (12:30 – 3:00)

– Engage in group study sessions or seek clarification from your teachers if you have any doubts or questions.

5. Exam Regulations:

– Students are required to arrive at their designated exam venue at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam.

– You must bring your valid student ID card.

– Electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, and tablets, are strictly prohibited during the exam.

6. Exam Reminders:

– It is essential to maintain academic integrity during the examination. Any form of cheating or plagiarism will result in severe consequences as per the PUA’s policies.

– Make sure to read and follow all instructions provided on the exam paper carefully.

– Manage your time effectively to ensure you have sufficient time to complete all sections of the exam.

Starting from Tuesday 12th March, 2024 your English Remedial session will be running from 11:40 am to 12:20 pm every Tuesday till the end of the Holy month.

Starting from the 1st day of Ramadan till the end of Ramadan month your English session ( F2F ) will be running from 09:00 am to 10:15 am

from 11:40 am to 12:55 pm

according to to your Academic Timetable on your Power Campus

For your English Online sessions it will run normally without any changes from 07:00 am to 11:59 pm.

2- Daylight Saving Time

 

Dear ELC Students

Kindly note that daylight saving time ends starting from today midnight. Consequently, time will shift from +3GMT to +2GMT.

To ensure and avoid any timing discrepancies, please make sure your phones are updated to avoid any delays on your F2F sessions starting from next Sunday 29th October as our sessions F2F and Online will run normally in their time slots according to your timetable on Power Campus.

3- MidTerm Announcement – Fall 2023

 

Dear Students,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you of the upcoming Midterm Examinations, which are scheduled to take place on Sunday 19/11/2023 from 09:00 Am till 10:00 Am ( Week 8) at your faculty .

The Mid-Term Exams are a crucial component of your Course Work, as their marks (20 marks) represent 20% of the total course marks. Here are some essential details regarding the Mid-Term Exams:

  1. Exam Format: Make sure to be familiar with the exam format on your collective class on BB “Mock – Midterm exam”
  2. Study Material: Review your course materials, and you can discuss what you can’t cover with your instructor in your F2F sessions in Week (7)
  3. Examination Guidelines: On the day of the exam, arrive at the designated examination venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Remember to bring your student ID card and make sure you write your name and ID in the proper context.

Your sessions will be posted online (not face-to-face) starting from Tuesday 28/11/2023 till Thursday 30/11/2023.

As we approach the end of the term , we would like to provide you with important information regarding the final exams.

please take note that the final exams will take place on Monday 08/01/2024 in your faculty at 09:00 am sharp.

Students who have approved makeup tests are required to head to D101 after they finish their English final exam

We understand that the final exam can be stressful, but we have full confidence in your abilities and dedication . If you have any questions or concerns regarding the final exams, please do not hesitate to reach out to your teacher or the admins.

Dear students,

The ELC wishes you a great successful semester and wants to highlight the following

 

1-The ELC rules and regulations posted on the website are your guide, read them carefully. They include important information on how sessions are conducted, attendance, tests and marks distribution

2 –You will find yourself on two Blackboard classes (1 individual and 1 collective). You will have been added to your Blackboard classes by the end of week 2 max. In case of any issues, head to ELC Student Affairs Room D101 in the Humanities and Social Studies Building who will help you with that.

3-You will not see on   Blackboard Collective Classes the content that you miss in case you are absent from your F2F session. Therefore, you need to take notes of what your teacher says in class regularly since it will be the only source of that content.

4- If your name is not on the class roster, do not attend in this class and head to D101 for knowing your correct class.

Dear ELC student;
All your face to face English classes will take place in the Humanities and Social an Studies Building, which is the D building. In order to know which room you will be attending in, check the room number on your registration dashboard. For example, if your class is in room D129 then it is on the first floor because the first number refers to the floor number. The building is divided into two parts: odd numbered rooms and even numbered ones.
  • Book Availability
Dear ELC students:
Once your registration is approved and payment has been processed (that process takes around 48 hours), you can receive your English books. Please make sure you have your bank receipt otherwise you will not be able to receive your books.
As for the freshmen, you can receive your books as soon as the University Students’ Affairs Department has registered the subjects of your first semester.

Dear ELC students,

If you are registered in Group A, :

Your session 1 of the week will be face to face in one of the English Language Classes. 

After you are done with your English class, you will have an assignment on Blackboard which you will have to complete before session 2 of the same week.

Your Session 2 of the week will be online on Blackboard. You will have an assignment on Blackboard which you will have to complete by the time class  finishes.

 

If you are registered in Group B:

Your session 1 of the week will be online on Blackboard. You will have an assignment on Blackboard which you will have to complete before the class time finishes.

Session 2 of the week will be face to face in one of the English Language Classes. 

After you are done with your English class, you will have an assignment on Blackboard which you will have to complete by Thursday of the same week.
