Publication Ethics
PJArchp is committed to ensuring the integrity of published research and its presentation by adhering to the following guidelines:
– The manuscript should not be submitted to more than one journal for simultaneous review. The submitted work must be original and have not been previously published in any form or language (partially or fully), unless the new work is an expansion of past work.
– The acceptance of the submitted manuscript implies that the copyright is passed to the Department of Architecture at Faculty of Engineering, Pharos University in Alexandria. The Agreement of Authorship, Originality, and Copyright Transfer must be signed and delivered.
– The writers must ensure that the contents and data collecting do not raise ethical concerns, and that there is no conflict of interest with others.
– The journal has a stringent policy against plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism with competent plagiarism detection software. Submitted manuscripts having an unacceptable similarity index due to plagiarism are rejected immediately.
– Results should be reported clearly and reliably, with no fabrication, falsification, or improper data manipulation (including picture manipulation).
– No facts, text, or hypotheses from others are presented as if they were the author’s own (plagiarism). Proper acknowledgement of other works is required (this includes content that is closely reproduced (near verbatim), summarized, and/or paraphrased), as well as permissions for protected material.
– Authorship must be confined to those who have contributed significantly to the research. Authors are strongly recommended to ensure that the corresponding author and author order are correct at submission. Adding and/or deleting authors during the revision process is normally not permitted, although in some instances it may be necessary. Reasons for changes in authorship should be explained in detail. Please note that changes to authorship cannot be made after acceptance of a manuscript.
– The corresponding author is responsible for managing all communications between the Journal and all co-authors prior to and following publication, as well as ensuring that all eligible co-authors are included in the article. It is also his obligation to guarantee that all co-authors have viewed and accepted the final version of the paper, which includes the names and order of authors.
– Authors are required to verify that they have no known conflicting financial interests or personal relationships that are directly or indirectly related to the work being submitted for publication.
– The authors are requested to declare any research grants from funding agencies (please specify the research funder and the grant number) in a consistent manner to facilitate compliance with the funder’s requirements.
– For further transparency, we encourage authors to include an author statement section explaining their contributions to the work using the applicable contribution roles. Conceptualization, data curation, formal analysis, funding acquisition, investigation, methodology, project administration, resources, software, supervision, validation, and visualization; Roles/Writing: Original draft; review and editing. Authorship statements should be formatted with the authors’ names first, followed by their roles.
– When an author discovers a serious error or inaccuracy in their published material, they are obligated to amend it. The author(s) is/are requested to contact the journal and explain how the inaccuracy is affecting the manuscript. The type of inaccuracy will determine how to fix the material.
For further information, we recommend authors to refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics’ International Standards for Authors and view the Publication Ethics.
