The Japan Foundation Introduction

The Japan Foundation(JF) was established in 1972 under the auspices of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. To cultivate friendship and ties between Japan and the world, JF creates global opportunities to foster friendship, trust, and mutual understanding through culture, language, and dialogue.

The Japan Foundation, Cairo(JFC), which was founded in 1995 as JF’s only branch in the Middle East and Africa, has been promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchange between Japan and the Middle East and North Africa through many projects, activities, and events.
