An Orientation Session on Emerging Fields of Work

PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication organized an orientation session on the new areas of media work. The session took place in the presence of media experts, vice dean, heads of departments, a group of faculty members, and teaching assistants.
Further, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu El-Ela, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, key media figures, namely Mr. Khaled Al-Etrebi, Director, Egyptian Satellite Channel (ESC). Mr. Khaled Al-Baramawy, digital media expert, Mrs. Dina Esmat, TV presenter, DMC channel, and Dr. Alaa Fawzy, Professor of Public Relations. Moreover, Dr. Abu El-Ela stressed the need to benefit from the experiences of the guests in helping students determine their appropriate specialization in the Faculty’s various departments.
Meanwhile, Dr. Howaida Mostafa, Dean, said that the Faculty tirelessly seeks to support students to enhance their academic and practical skills. This can be achieved through field training, which confirms the PUA’s keenness to generate graduates capable of competing in the labor market.
Within the same context, the experts provided many tips that may help them [students] determine their appropriate department, and what jobs are expected for each major after graduation. Media expert, Khaled Al-Baramawy, explained that digital journalism is the future, and that is why students should consider the journalism department to help them qualify for work in major Egyptian and international journalistic websites.
Moreover, Mr. Khaled Al-Etribi stated that radio and television are still at the top of the majors in the media, because they’re distinguished by the multiplicity of their required and renewable jobs that await students upon graduation.
