Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed Yehia Ashour, the Dean of the faculty of Dentistry, the PUA dental students went in a trip during the mid-year holiday to visit the pharaonic monuments in Luxor and Aswan. This was held on 7-11 February 2020. It is worth mentioning that a large number of students went on this trip, in addition to 3 faculty members as supervisors. The trip included visiting: Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, High Dam, Temple of Philae, Nubian Villages in Aswan and the botanical garden of Aswan (Geziret an-Nabatat) which is also known as Kitchener’s Island attributing to Lord Kitchener who owned it. This was in addition to visiting several Granite factories. Moreover, they attended the sound and light show in Karnak Temple in Luxor, went on Nile cruises and took free tours in the markets of the two cities. The trip aimed to introduce the students to Egypt’s ancient civilization.
