Media Prominent Figures Honoured at Pharos University

Under the auspices of Eng. Alaa Ragab, the Chairman of PUA Board of Trustees and Prof. Mahmoud Mohy El Din, the President of Pharos University, the faculty of Mass Communication holds a conference about curriculum issues in media studies. This is held on Tuesday, 26 March, 2019 in Mohamed Ragab’s Great Conference Hall. The conference’s theme is discussed from the viewpoint adopted by the humanities studies and researches conducted by the Media Renewal and Authenticity Movement.

Listed below is the conference’s programme, with a sample of the participated faculty members:

  • Taha Negm, the Head of the Mass Media Department at the faculty of Arts- Alexandria University will deliver a lecture on digital programmes and qualitative analysis.
  • Fawzy Abdel Ghany, the Dean of the faculty of Mass Communication- Pharos University will speak about media studies in Egypt.
  • Mohamed Saad, the Dean of the Higher Institute of Media- El Shorouk Academy and the Initiator of the Media Renewal and Authenticity Movement, will give a word about the movement’s media research contributions.

According to what is announced by Prof. Fawzy Abdel Ghany, the Dean of the faculty of Mass Communication in Pharos University, the conference programme will also include a ceremony for commemorating Dr. Ibrahim Imam, the father of media studies in the Arab World and honouring a number of prominent figures in the field of media, including Prof. Magy El Helwany, the former Dean of the faculty of Mass Communication- Cairo University and Dr. Mahmoud Alam El Din, the Head of the Academic Promotion Committee at the faculty of Mass Communication where they will be given the university’s commemorative plaques for their extensive expertise. A number of media researchers from Alexandria and Delta Region.
