Training Workshop for First-Year Academic Mentors
As part of PUA’s commitment to providing comprehensive academic guidance for first-year undergraduates across all faculties, a specialized training workshop was organized for first-year academic mentors. The initiative aimed to enhance academic advising and support new students at the outset of their university journeys.
Eng. Ahmed Alaa Arafa from the Faculty of Engineering delivered the workshop. The session focused on training mentors to implement a newly developed mechanism for routine student monitoring. This mechanism emphasizes continuous evaluation of student performance in coursework, quizzes, and assignments, while closely tracking attendance.
Furthermore, the new framework integrates structured communication channels with parents to involve them in the academic monitoring process. These coordinated efforts aim to establish a supportive learning environment for freshmen during their foundational academic year. PUA remains dedicated to updating its academic advising tools to ensure student success and academic excellence.
