Principal Investigator (PI)
Prof. Doaa Ahmad Ghareeb, Principal Investigator of the Advanced Bioscreening and Preclinical Studies (ABPS) Research School, is a distinguished Full Professor of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, with a scientific career spanning more than two decades. She holds B.Sc. (1998), M.Sc. (2003), and Ph.D. (2007) degrees in Biochemistry from Alexandria University and has since become a leading figure in biochemical research, Bioscreening, advanced bioprocessing, and natural-product-based therapeutics.
Prof. Ghareeb is widely recognized for her impactful research portfolio, featuring over 188 publications, more than 2973 citations, and an h-index of 29 on Scopus as of 2025. Her academic and scientific leadership includes serving as the Manager of the Quality Assurance Unit, General Supervisor of Consulting at PFIDC, and former Acting Dean of PFIDC (2018–2021). She also serves as Treasurer of the ACS Egypt Chapter and is an active member of the National Committee of Women in Science.
Her research encompasses nanotechnology-based therapeutic design, Bioscreening of natural products, preclinical evaluation models, and biochemical strategies for combating cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic diseases, and viral infections. She has contributed 66+ peer-reviewed articles and supervised more than 100 postgraduate theses.
Prof. Ghareeb has received numerous awards, including the Golden Woman in Health and Science Award (2025) and the Women’s Encouragement Award in Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences (2018). Her visionary leadership, strong national and international collaborations, and commitment to scientific innovation continue to drive the advancement of sustainable biomedical solutions and empower the next generation of scientists.
