Plastic Cleanup Campaign

In line with protecting coastal ecosystems and fostering civic responsibility, PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) continues to lead environmental initiatives aimed at natural resource conservation and student community engagement. As part of these efforts, the Faculty of Engineering launched a field initiative to Stanley Beach, where engineering students participated in beach cleanup operations and plastic waste collection to mitigate marine pollution and preserve Alexandria’s coastal aesthetics.

This initiative highlights PUA’s commitment to driving environmental literacy among its students, encouraging proactive habits that protect marine biodiversity and reduce the damage caused by plastic debris on aquatic ecosystems.

CSED reaffirms its dedication to supporting student-led volunteer projects that translate environmental responsibility into practical action, preparing a new generation of sustainable engineering professionals dedicated to environmental preservation.
