Smoking Hazards and Negative Impact

PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology hosted an awareness seminar titled “Dangers of Smoking and Its Impact on Health and Society”. The event aimed to spread awareness among students, driven by the awareness-raising role of PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED). The seminar focused on highlighting the negative repercussions of smoking on both individuals and the community, urging youth to adopt healthy lifestyles.

The event explored multiple scientific themes, most notably the structural damage caused by smoking and its direct impact on the efficiency of the respiratory system and cardiovascular diseases, in addition to its role in increasing the rates of chronic illnesses. CSED emphasized that this seminar aligns with its ongoing health awareness plan designed to elevate students’ understanding of behavioral health issues and promote a culture of prevention on campus. The seminar concluded with a recommendation to continue these educational events, contributing to building a conscious generation capable of making sound health decisions that protect society and preserve its resources.
