Combating Violence Against Women
PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology hosted an awareness seminar titled “Combating Violence Against Women”. The event was held to enhance awareness of social and human rights issues under the umbrella of regular activities led by PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED). The seminar aimed to highlight the vital importance of protecting women and countering all forms of discrimination or violence directed against them, as a fundamental pillar for family and social stability.
The event explored the concept of violence against women and its various forms, reviewing its severe psychological, social, and physical consequences, while emphasizing the need to promote a culture of respect and equality. Participants highlighted the role of educational and academic institutions in supporting social awareness and confronting these negative phenomena. CSED indicated that this seminar aligns with its strategic plan to elevate students’ awareness of humanitarian issues and instill values of human rights and positive coexistence, ensuring the development of a conscious, responsible university community that leads positive future change.
