PUA Enters THE World University Rankings 2027
In a significant international achievement reflecting its growing academic stature, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) announced its debut inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027. This milestone aligns with the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s statement announcing forty Egyptian universities featured in the latest edition, with PUA emerging as a prominent new entrant among globally ranked institutions.
This entry builds upon PUA’s consistent presence in the THE Impact Rankings since 2020. PUA secured its position as one of only ten private Egyptian universities ranked in this edition out of thirty-nine private universities accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities. Globally, PUA placed in the (1601-1800) band, leading the fifth category among ranked private Egyptian universities. “Research Quality” emerged as the university’s strongest performance indicator, followed by its “International Outlook” metric.
PUA’s President expressed pride in this institutional milestone, emphasizing that it reflects the university’s expanding international footprint and academic excellence. Furthermore, the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research described the ranking as a pivotal benchmark aligning the university with global academic standards. He commended the faculty members and researchers for their high-impact publications, affirming that this accomplishment serves as a solid foundation for advancing instructional quality, research infrastructure, and global academic partnerships in future ranking cycles.
