PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, under the auspices of the Faculty’s Innovations Club, hosted the 6th Open robotics competition Egypt (ORCE) for the third consecutive time. ORCE is launched with 1,200 participants in 185 teams, 45 judges, and 150 volunteers. This competition is a platform to showcase talents by encouraging competitiveness, creativity, and innovation among the engineering students. Further, the competition motivating the students of the Faculty of Engineering with its various departments and disciplines for to do research and study, and design, test and produce advanced systems through the use of the latest engineering applications.

 

It is also worth noting that PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, in partnership with the Arab Robotics Society, Kidzania Academy, GinoTech and Techno Future Companies, had the privilege of hosting the competition multiple times. It was hosted for the first time in its third session in September 2019. Then hosted it for the second time in its fifth session in December 2021, in which PUA’s Engineering team won the best innovative idea for a robot arm project.

 

In the current session, the project (Smart Urine Bag SUB) submitted by students of the Mechanical Engineering Department, was awarded to the student. Abdul Rahman Zaghloul, the student. Arn Massad, and supervied by Dr. Nabil Rashwan, General Supervisor of the Innovations Club at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, won first place in the Universities Innovation Award.

 

At the conclusion of the competition, the Dean thanked the competition organizing committee and the participants for their tremendous efforts to produce the competition in such a remarkable picture.
