World Heart Day

Under the supervision of PUA’s Student Activities Department, the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology hosted an awareness event to mark World Heart Day, aiming to raise health literacy and highlight preventive measures against cardiovascular diseases across the campus community.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamer Nabil emphasized the significance of World Heart Day, highlighting that health awareness serves as the primary defense line against heart disease. Dr. Nabil noted that prevention begins with healthy daily habits, including regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, smoking quitting, and routine monitoring of blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol levels, while urging individuals not to overlook early warning signs. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mokhtar highlighted that cardiovascular health is a shared responsibility starting with individual awareness and supported by educational institutions in disseminating accurate medical guidance. Dr. Mokhtar added that early detection of risk factors, adherence to medical advice, stress management, and mental wellbeing are crucial elements in mitigating cardiovascular risks.

The event concluded with the Dean of the Faculty honoring the guest speakers and awarding them certificates of appreciation for their valuable contributions to promoting community health and preventative medicine.
