The academic supervisor of the of Architectural Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering organized a scientific visit for the Department’s students to Barcelona. The Department cooperated with the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) which collaborates with several cities, regions, industrial groups and research centers. This includes Barcelona City Hall, Collserola Natural Park, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Center for Information Technology and Architecture (CITA), and Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc).

The students and their teachers spent six days in Barcelona, one of Europe’s prominent capitals of architecture and urbanism. During this visit, the students visited the city’s key architectural buildings and attended lectures at IAAC. IAAC is one of the most significant educational, research and production centers in Barcelona dedicated to developing an architecture capable of meeting the global challenges of housing construction in the early 21st century.

Further, IAAC applies the principles of the digital revolution at all levels to push further the boundaries of architecture, design, and meet the challenges faced by humanity through testing methodology that promotes real solutions.
