Laboratory Technology Annual Scientific Day

In alignment with the Medical Laboratory Technology Department’s strategic plan at PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology to modernize curricula, enhance active learning, and foster internationalization and innovation, the Department held its Annual Scientific Day. The event featured broad participation from faculty members, students, and distinguished academic experts from leading scientific institutions.

The Scientific Day offered a series of specialized lectures covering advanced medical laboratory disciplines, presented by faculty and scholars from Alexandria University and the Medical Research Institute across clinical chemistry, hematology, blood banking, microbiology, immunology, and histology. A key focus was dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence applications into medical laboratory sciences and health education, aligning academic instruction with evolving market demands. Additionally, sessions highlighted sustainable laboratory practices in connection with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing PUA’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community service.

Advancing the program’s global dimension, the event featured two virtual international sessions hosted in collaboration with the University of Vienna, where global scholars presented specialized lectures followed by an open discussion that enabled students to engage directly with international experts. Students across second, third, and fourth academic years actively participated by presenting curriculum-linked scientific posters evaluated by an expert judging panel from Alexandria University. The event concluded with the recognition of top-performing scientific posters and the distribution of certificates of appreciation, underscoring PUA’s dedication to developing research skills, critical thinking, and international academic partnerships.
