Intellectual Property and AI in Design
In line with its commitment to advancing academic integrity and professional practices, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a specialized workshop titled “Intellectual Property Rights and AI Ethics in Design.” The event was held under the supervision of the Student Activities Department.
Dr. Shaimaa Fouad led the session, emphasizing the strategic importance of raising awareness regarding intellectual property rights to safeguard designers’ creative ownership and foster genuine innovation. Dr. Fouad highlighted the necessity of balancing advanced AI capabilities with human artistic identity, stressing transparency, proper attribution, data privacy, and ethical compliance throughout the design process.
This initiative falls within the Faculty’s vision to encourage responsible technology adoption within creative industries. PUA continues to host educational workshops that equip students with both technical expertise and ethical principles, ensuring high professional standards in an evolving digital landscape.
