Integrating SDGs into Interior Design
Continuing the activities of the third environmental campaign “Green Pharos,” PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) persisted in its efforts to support environmental awareness and promote sustainability concepts, in cooperation with the Green Pharos Committee at the Faculty of Arts and Design. CSED hosted a specialized seminar titled “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in Interior Architecture Designs,” highlighting the designer’s role in reducing environmental impact through conscious material selection and efficient resource management.
The seminar addressed mechanisms for employing smart design solutions, showcasing applied models that demonstrate how to integrate sustainability into interior architecture projects. The discussions focused on innovation in material reuse and achieving an essential balance between functional aesthetics and ecosystem preservation. The session featured interactive discussions between students and faculty members regarding the future of sustainable design and the challenges of transitioning toward a green economy.
This event is part of PUA’s strategic plan to support sustainable development goals and strengthen the partnership with the Green Pharos Committee to spread a culture of sustainability across all creative fields. The seminar underscores the academic institution’s commitment to preparing a generation of architects capable of crafting interior spaces that respect the environment and meet societal needs, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
