Earth Day: Spreading Environmental Awareness

As part of Earth Day celebrations, PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy hosted a distinguished event aimed at spreading environmental awareness through practical applications related to the pharmaceutical field. The event included a showcase of several student projects focused on manufacturing nature-based products, where students produced samples of natural perfumes using essential oils extracted from plants, in addition to presenting a range of natural products used in the pharmaceutical field, such as herbal products and treatments based on natural materials.

The event featured a simplified explanation of extraction and manufacturing methods, with clarification of the health and environmental benefits of using natural materials as a safe and sustainable alternative to chemical substances. Students demonstrated a distinguished level of innovation and creativity in presenting their products, while observing scientific and practical standards. This event comes within the Faculty’s commitment to linking academic study with contemporary environmental issues, and encouraging students to adopt innovative ideas that contribute to environmental protection and support the trend toward sustainable pharmaceutical industries.

At the end of the event, participating students’ efforts were commended, with emphasis on the importance of continuing to organize such activities that develop environmental awareness and support the practical skills of pharmacy students.
