Architectural Design Principles of Hotel Facilities
The Museum Hall at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Alexandria University (AU), hosted a specialized seminar on the architectural design principles of hotel facilities titled “Where Design Meets Hospitality: Rethinking Hotel Spaces.” The seminar was delivered by Dr. Mona Mohamed Naguib, Associate Professor at PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department. This event falls within the cultural season of AU’s Hotel Studies Department, following a kind invitation from Prof. Dr. Geylan El-Demerdash, Department Head, and Dr. Sara Awad, Lecturer in the Department.
The seminar explored modern engineering and aesthetic dimensions in planning hotel spaces, focusing on how to harmonize innovative architectural design with the requirements of luxury hospitality to enhance the guest experience. The lecture touched upon mechanisms for rethinking the utilization of indoor and outdoor hotel spaces to keep pace with global developments in this sector. The seminar opened broad horizons for discussion and exchange of visions between architectural sciences and hospitality studies, embodying the importance of cognitive and academic integration among educational faculties in Egyptian universities to serve the fields of tourism development.
