A Field Visit to Alexandria Naval Base
PUA Students commenced the first day of their participation in the “National Identity: Deep Roots and a Renewed Vision” conference with a field visit to explore the operational capabilities and missions of the Egyptian Naval Forces. Gathering at the historic Citadel square, the student delegation departed toward the Alexandria Naval Base as part of an educational itinerary designed to offer firsthand insight into naval operations and defense capabilities.
The visit began at the Ras El-Tin Conference Hall, where students listened to an address delivered by Major General Mohamed Abdel Aziz, alongside a presentation highlighting the military career of the Commander of the Egyptian Navy, Vice Admiral Mahmoud Adel. The session featured a documentary showcasing the core missions, strategic accomplishments, and modern capabilities of the Egyptian Navy, providing students with a deep understanding of its vital role in safeguarding Egyptian territorial waters and maritime borders.
Following the presentation, students toured the naval construction and ship repair hangar, observing the technical stages of shipbuilding, equipment installation, and maintenance operations. The tour concluded with an inspection aboard the naval vessel “Sigma Abu Simbel,” where students learned about its strategic capabilities and logistically critical role in supply and support missions within the naval fleet. This field visit reinforces national consciousness among students, seamlessly bridging academic learning with direct exposure to key national institutions.
