An Orientation Workshop on Community Services

Advancing PUA’s strategy to embed social responsibility and civic involvement within its student body, the Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) hosted an orientation workshop at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management. The workshop aimed to familiarize students with the concept of community service, highlighting CSED’s role in coordinating field initiatives and outlining various pathways for student involvement in environmental and societal development projects.

The workshop addressed core themes surrounding volunteerism and civic engagement, illustrating their vital role in cultivating leadership, communication skills, and personal accountability among students. Discussions emphasized the application of academic tourism and hospitality knowledge toward crafting innovative solutions that meet local community needs. CSED representatives outlined operational frameworks for coordinating university-wide initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration between academic departments and the broader Alexandria community.

During the event, CSED affirmed that community participation forms an integral pillar of a comprehensive university experience, providing students with practical field experience, team-building abilities, and heightened environmental awareness. The workshop concluded with a commitment from CSED to continuously support student-led initiatives, preparing well-rounded graduates ready to drive positive social impact.
