Tourism’s Alumni Meeting
Within the effective role of PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) in supporting continuous communication with alumni and enhancing integration between the academic sphere and the labor market, the Graduates Follow-up Committee held an event entitled “Alumni Meeting”. The event witnessed the attendance of 15 alumni from the Tourism and Hotel Management programs across various graduating classes, aiming to exchange experiences, strengthen bonds and relationships between alumni and the faculty, alongside providing current students with opportunities to explore available prospects in the labor market.
During the meeting, alumni reviewed their professional careers post-graduation, presenting successful models in various work fields. Among the prominent participants was graduate Mohannad Adel Yaqout (Class of 2023, Hotel Management Program) who joined Emaar Hotel in Alamein City, and graduate Marina Ashraf (Class of 2023, Tourism Program) who works as a flight booking officer at Family Tours. The meeting also featured Graduate Menna Allah Abu Ghazala (Class of 2022, Tourism Program), having joined Palazzo Versace Dubai hotel as Sales and Events Executive, alongside Graduate Mayar Yaqout (Class of 2023, Tourism Program) who joined academic work as a teaching assistant in the Tourism Program at PUA’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management.
Alumni addressed the main challenges they faced after graduation and how to overcome them, while offering important advice to students about developing required labor market skills such as languages, personal skills, teamwork, and practical experience. The meeting was characterized by an atmosphere of positive interaction and open dialogue between alumni and students, where numerous questions were discussed that helped clarify a realistic picture of the labor market’s nature and requirements. At the conclusion of the event, attendees expressed their joy with this meeting, emphasizing the importance of continuing to organize such events that contribute to supporting alumni, strengthening their connection to the faculty, and better preparing students for the future labor market.
