Under the patronage of Prof. Ezzat Hassan, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology and Prof. Magdy Bedewy Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology and Head of the Scientific Committee invited all Pharos University staff members to attend the first fall meeting of the scientific committee on Tuesday, 3 November 2020 in room (G-616).

Dr. Radwa Abdelrhman contributed to the meeting by giving a valuable lecture. The lecture entitled “A Novel Morphological Analysis of DXA-DICOM Images by Artificial Neural Networks for Estimating Bone Mineral Density in Health and Disease” where she discussed the One of the best methods for diagnosing bone disease in humans is site-specific and total bone mineral density (BMD) measurements by Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) machines. The basic disadvantage of this technology is inconsistent BMD measurements among different DXA machines from different manufacturers due to different image analysis algorithms. The study was conducted with the participation of a group of faculty members at Pharos University with a research group from Alexandria University and was published in 2019.

(Journal of Clinical Densitometry: Assessment & Management of Musculoskeletal Health, vol. 22, no. 3, 382390, 2019. Q1 class A).

Dr. Hewida Fadel explain the assessment of methylation rate in CpG islands in promoter of genes using QUMA program.

All the attendees expressed their admiration for the content of the scientific meeting. Prof. Dr. Ezzat Hassan and Prof. Dr. Magdy Bedewy honored the speakers and also some laboratory specialists for their appreciable activities.
