The faculty of Engineering held a seminar for discussing graduation projects of different departments from 25^th to 27^th of July at the faculty. The seminar was attended by Prof. Hesham Soudy, the Head of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate, Prof. Saied Alam, the Dean of faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University and Mr. Hesham Abd El Khalek, a Consultant to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for developing education. It is worth mentioning that the projects are applicable and aim to serve environment and society as well as provide the students with experiences that qualify them for distinct job opportunities.

The students of the Mechanical Engineering Department presented their graduation projects from Sunday 26/7/2020 to Monday 27/7/2020. On the 1st day, these projects were discussed:

• “Design, Modeling and Performance Analysis of Solar Still” which was submitted under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed El Sayed, a Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department.
• “Design and Optimization of Network Solar Collectors for Swimming Pool Heating Application” which was submitted under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed El Nakeeb, a Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department.

This was attended by Prof. Alaa El Din Mohamed Shibl, the Head of the department, Prof. Mohamed Gamal, Prof. Wael El Maghlany, the Head of Mechanical Engineering in the Alexandria University and Prof. Mohamed Fouad Zidan.

On the 2^nd day, project entitled “Home Scale Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT)” which was submitted under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Tawfik a Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department. This was attended by Dr. Sameh Tawfik, Dr. Sadek Kasab, Prof. Alaa El Din Mohamed Shibl. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Palm Björn, the Head of the Department of Energy Technology in KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden attended the two-day discussion through “Zoom” application.

The Construction Engineering and Management Department “Reinforced Concrete Design” project was discussed for four groups on Monday, 27 July 2020. It was attended by:

• Saied Allahm, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University.
• Mohamed Gaber, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Pharos University.
• Tarek Ebada, the Head of Structural Engineering Department, Alexandria University.
• Hazem El Bakry, a Lecturer of Concrete Structure, Alexandria University.
• Moustafa Marzouk, a Lecturer of Concrete Structure, Alexandria University.
• Ahmed Tarabia, a Lecturer of Concrete Structure, Alexandria University.
• Prof. Mohy El Din Shoukry, a Lecturer of Concrete Structure and a former Head of the department, Alexandria University
