Sustainability in Contemporary Painting
In line with PUA’s strategy to integrate creative expressions with contemporary environmental issues, the Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a specialized workshop titled “Sustainability in Contemporary Painting.” Organized under the supervision of the Student Activities Department, the event brought together academic staff and fine arts students interested in sustainable artistic approaches.
Dr. Jaylan Hussein presented comprehensive instruction on introducing sustainability concepts to students in the Painting and Drawing Department, demonstrating practical methods for applying these principles within contemporary fine art. Practical demonstrations focused on guiding participants to utilize eco-friendly materials and sustainable techniques to produce innovative artistic works.
Through its focus on these core themes, the Faculty highlights the vital role of visual arts in addressing contemporary environmental challenges and fostering social responsibility among emerging artists. This initiative underscores the Faculty’s dedication to advancing sustainable development goals while reinforcing the connection between art, the environment, and society.
