As part of PUA’s student activities program, the Faculty of Arts and Design organized a workshop entitled “Recycling Fabric Wastes and Scraps to Achieve Sustainability.” This workshop was prepared by Dr. Marwa Issa, Lecturer in the Fashion Design Department.

Despite the increasing attention to environmental issues and conservation, fabric scraps are still being wasted throughout the various stages of design and execution. Till today, the surplus in fabric scraps has no clear mechanism to utilize it.

Therefore, this workshop presents a new vision for utilizing the remnants of fabric waste and scraps. This can be done through merging the various patterns of the fabrics with basic materials, auxiliary materials, while observing compatibility.
