Pharmacy Celebrates Earth Day

PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy hosted a distinguished event to celebrate “Earth Day,” aimed at spreading environmental awareness through practical applications linking pharmaceutical sciences with sustainability. The event featured innovative student projects focused on utilizing natural resources in pharmaceutical industries, showcasing natural perfumes, herbal preparations, and treatments based entirely on plant extracts.

Students provided detailed explanations of essential oil extraction mechanisms and safe manufacturing methods, highlighting the health and environmental benefits of replacing chemicals with sustainable natural alternatives. This initiative embodies the Faculty’s commitment to integrating contemporary environmental issues into the academic curriculum and encouraging emerging researchers to innovate solutions that support “Green Pharmacy.” The event concluded with praise for the students’ efforts and their scientific creativity, emphasizing the role of such activities in preparing pharmacists who are conscious of their responsibility toward environmental protection and the development of eco-friendly pharmaceutical industries.
