Petrochemical Engineering’s Orientation Day

In line with PUA’s commitment to supporting newly enrolled students and facilitating their seamless integration into academic life, the Petrochemical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering hosted a welcoming orientation for its freshmen students. Organized under the supervision of the Student Activities Department, the event brought together academic officials, faculty members, freshman students, and their parents.

The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, who emphasized the pivotal role of university education in fostering personal character, scientific knowledge, and practical skills. Dr. Etman further encouraged students to capitalize on the academic and co-curricular opportunities offered across campus. Subsequently, Dr. Noha Saeed delivered an address highlighting the strategic importance of petrochemical engineering and its direct alignment with energy sector dynamics and industrial market demands, offering students a clear perspective on future professional pathways.

Furthermore, Faculty members provided detailed guidance on the academic advisement system, study plan, and continuous performance evaluation frameworks. Dr. Radwa Zarra, Field Training Coordinator, highlighted the essential role of industry internships in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical engineering applications. Additionally, Dr. Aya Soliman introduced international relations initiatives, outlining available student exchange programs and global academic opportunities. This orientation underscores the Department’s dedication to delivering an exceptional university entry experience and cultivating strong faculty-student engagement.
