“How to Become a Successful Reporter”

The Faculty of Mass Communication, through the Media Training Center, organized a seminar entitled “How to become a successful reporter”. The seminar was attended by Ms. Youmna Atwa, Al-Ahly TV reporter, Ms. Asmaa Samir, Dubbing and Voiceover Director, and Ms. Marwa Saleh, Editing and Directing Expert, Mr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Adl, Former Reporter for Al-Nahar Channel and Broadcaster at Youm7.
It was also attended by Mr. Mahmoud Hendi, Journalist at Egypt Today Website. It was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, PUA’s President, and Prof. Dr. Huwaida Mustafa, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication.
In the onset of the seminar, Dr. Tamer Sokar, Assistant Professor, Radio and Television Department, delivered a welcoming speech to the audience. While Prof. Dr. Howaida Mustafa thanked them for their participation in the seminar. She also emphasized the necessity of repeating these seminars due to their significance in building the students’ media personalities.
Furthermore, the Dean emphasized the significance of the Faculty’s Media Center as it provides an opportunity for students to develop. This development is done through the proposed workshops, and the professional trainers that the center depends on to enhance the students’ skills and keep them updated with the developments in the media labor market.
In addition, the dialogue with moderated by Qamar Ahmed, a fourth-year student, Journalism and Digital Publishing Department. The seminar tackled the most important different media skills such as voiceover, dubbing, TV reporting in a coherent way as a TV reporter, as well as montage skills.
The seminar also highlighted the inspiring personal experiences of media professionals and influencers. For instance, Alaa Ismail, a third year student, shared his experience in content creation on social media platforms.

The seminar came within the framework of the Center’s new training plan, and was supervised by Dr. Hussein Abu Omar, Lecturer, Public Relations and Advertising, and Director of the Media Training Center, Ms. Noha Youssef, Teaching Assistant Journalism and Digital Publishing Department, and Center’s Deputy Director, Prof. Mohamed Alaa, Center’s coordinator. Further, Dr. Noha El-Asdoudy, Lecturer, Public Relations and Advertising Department, organized the seminar’s events with the participation of Faculty students.
The seminar witnessed an intense presence of students, faculty members, and the teaching assistants and received great interaction among students and media professionals. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Howaida Mostafa honored the guests and the organizing team.
