Sunday, December 19, 2021, and under the auspices of student activities at the Faculty of Engineering, PUA, Students of the Computer Engineering Department organized a meeting where department’s students met with former graduates of the department from the classes of 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. The graduates shared their life experiences in the labor market, and how they overcame the difficulties they faced after graduation. They also shared with students the latest needs of the labor market in terms of skills, knowledge, and what students should learn before their graduation. Also, how to start learning about the technology currently being used in the software companies to keep pace with the needs of the labor market after graduation.

The meeting hosted 8 graduates from the Department of Computer Engineering from different classes from 2013 to 2021. Among those honorable guests were Eng. Hazem Al-Husseini and Eng. Mohamed Samir, graduates of 2013 and working in Berlin, Germany, as well as Eng. Khaled Alaa, who has experience in corporate and enterprise management solutions, and Eng. Mohammed Rashid, and Eng. Mohammed Al-Banna, who work in the development of smart phone applications, and Eng. Mohamed Sahragatti, who works in the field of websites development and database services.

Moreover, the graduates shared the latest findings of information technology in the labor market in various fields such as websites development, mobile phone applications, and electronic banking services.

The students and graduates also discussed about the current labor market in Alexandria, Cairo, and Germany, what companies offer, how to pass an interview, how to develop oneself during the academic tenure, and not to depend solely on the academic courses. Also, how to keep pace with the needs of the labor market; as the information technology market is constantly and rapidly evolving.

Furthermore, the students were keen to get the highest benefit from their fellow graduates, and promised to hold further meetings in the future, God willing.
