The policy of PUA’s Faculty of Engineering seeks to achieve full integration between academic study and practical application through field visits. In implementation of such policy, the Petrochemical Engineering Department organized a field visit for students of the first year of the Basic Sciences Department to Sidi Krir Petrochemical Company (SIDPEC). This is part of the activities of the General Chemistry Course (EB131).

The visit program began with an introductory lecture about the company, which included an introduction to the occupational health and safety systems used by the company. This was followed by a detailed lecture that included an explanation of the polyethylene production line and its manufacturing in the company. Following that, the students went on an inspection tour of the ethylene control room and the polyethylene labs. This was followed by a field visit to the polyethylene control unit and plant.

At the end of the visit, many memorial photos were taken, and the students and the supervisor of the visit thanked the company’s officials for their kind reception and tremendous efforts during the visit.
