Exploring Optical Illusion in Spatial Depth

PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a specialized seminar on “Achieving Spatial Depth Through Optical Illusion,” supervised by the Student Activities Department. The event saw active participation from faculty members and students interested in contemporary design. The seminar focused on optical illusion as a modern artistic trend that deceives the eye into perceiving non-existent depth on two-dimensional surfaces by employing perspective techniques, color gradients, and light-and-shadow play.

The initiative aimed to introduce students to visual space manipulation and enhance their visual perception skills, while providing practical applications that allowed them to experiment with these techniques firsthand. Organizers emphasized the vital role of student activities in supporting the educational process by offering an interactive environment that merges theory with practice, ultimately preparing innovative artistic professionals ready to meet market demands.
