Engineering Launches its Field Training Qualification Week
The activities of the Field Training Qualification Week commenced at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, for the 2025/2026 academic year, amid a large student turnout and broad engagement reflecting the students’ awareness of professional qualification. The opening session witnessed the attendance of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, who delivered an orientation speech emphasizing that these strategic events primarily target developing students’ practical and applied skills across various engineering disciplines, while effectively linking their academic knowledge with active professional reality.
The first day included a specialized lecture delivered by Dr. Radwa Zarra, Director of the Faculty’s Training Unit, who detailed the field training mechanisms and updated logistical guidelines designed to guarantee maximum benefit for the student body. Furthermore, the faculty welcomed prominent lecturers and representatives from the Engineers Syndicate in Alexandria, who delivered an extensive orientation session. This presentation introduced students to the syndicate’s strategic plans, along with the professional, legal, and qualifying services available to them upon graduation, while reviewing the engineering code of ethics and practice challenges under accelerated technological changes.
These activities align with PUA’s comprehensive and sustainable field training plan, which fundamentally aims to refine the practical and training skills of the faculty’s students and bridge the gap with production sectors. This collaborative approach successfully shapes engineers possessing competitive advantages and high readiness to enter the local and regional labor markets with confidence and merit, keeping pace with Egypt’s vision for digital transformation and sustainable development.
