Energy Awareness and Sustainability in Egypt

PUA’s Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences hosted an applied lecture titled “Energy Awareness and Sustainability in Egypt” as part of the Information Management course and PUA’s third environmental campaign, “Green Pharos.” The lecture aimed to increase student awareness of energy concepts and their vital applications, linking them to contemporary environmental and economic sustainability issues.

Presented by Dr. Noha Badr, the course instructor, the session hosted industrial expert Dr. Eng. Emad Sobh, who reviewed the current state of Egypt’s energy sector and the transition toward renewable sources, emphasizing conservation as a pillar of development. The session included practical examples of waste concepts and irrational consumption patterns, fostering critical thinking through interactive discussion. This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 7 and 12, to instill a culture of responsible consumption and sustainable production within the university community.
