Digital Carbon Footprint

As part of the ongoing fourth environmental campaign, “Green Pharos”, and driven by a commitment to advancing environmental literacy and sustainability, the Green Pharos Committee at PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication hosted a specialized seminar titled “Your Digital Carbon Footprint: The Environmental Impact of Technology and Digital Consumption”.

As part of the seminar, Dr. Amr Abdel-Fattah, Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, delivered a lecture with a presentation explored the environmental consequences of rising technology use and digital device consumption, focusing on energy usage, natural resource depletion, and practical methods for reducing one’s digital carbon footprint.

This initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) to foster environmental responsibility among students. PUA continues to encourage conscious technology habits and sustainable practices that mitigate the environmental impact of digital consumption, advancing its commitment to sustainable development goals.
