The Construction Engineering and Management Department, Faculty of Engineering organized an academic lecture titled “concrete water proofing by crystallization”. It was sponsored by the Student Activities Department and each lecturer co-lecture on concrete insulation with the property of crystallization. Further, the theory of insulation using this feature was illustrated along with the advantages of insulation and protection concrete slab using this method, which achieves the permanent sustainability sought after in Egypt’s vision 2030. In addition, examples were given of the immense projects where this feature was used. This included various international projects and many national projects in the Arab Republic of Egypt, including the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Suez Canal tunnels, the Metro, and Rod Al-Farag Bridge, and other national projects. At the end of the lecture, Prof. Dr. Hamdi Afifi, Head of the Construction Engineering and Management Department, thanked the lecturers and honored them with souvenirs presented by the University.
