Artistic Printing as an Approach to Fashion Design
PUA’s Faculty of Art and Design held a practical workshop titled “Artistic Printing as an Experimental Approach to Fashion Design”, coordinated under the supervision of the Faculty’s Student Activities Department. This initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to nurturing students’ creative and practical skills while enhancing applied artistic activities that align with evolving labor market demands in design and fashion through supporting hands-on innovation and experimentation.
The workshop drew wide participation from students interested in the printing and design sectors. The core sessions introduced the fundamentals and techniques of silk-screen printing, focusing on experimental mechanisms for designing innovative printing units and unconventional repetition methods to refine the participants’ aesthetic sensibilities. The event aimed to utilize the outcomes of this plastic experimentation to produce innovative textiles and materials suitable for direct application in fashion design, thereby elevating the students’ ability to merge artistic authenticity with practical implementation to deliver contemporary fashion designs with a distinct and unique visual identity.
