Art and National Identity

Art serves as a mirror for nations and a repository of cultural identity. Driven by this vision, PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) continues to support cultural and artistic initiatives. These activities strengthen awareness of authentic Egyptian identity, and also instill pride in national heritage among students.

Within this framework, the Faculty of Arts and Design hosted a seminar titled “Art and Its Relationship to Identity.” The lecture was delivered by Dr. Abeer El-Sayed Fatiha, Supervisor of the Statistics and Follow-up Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University. The seminar explored the link between artistic expression and cultural identity. Dr. Fatiha highlighted the role of arts in portraying the Egyptian character. She emphasized the preservation of historical heritage. Furthermore, she encouraged incorporating traditional Egyptian elements into contemporary artwork. This approach enhances cultural awareness and deepens national pride.

This seminar aligns with CSED’s commitment to bridging academic studies with cultural and societal causes. These initiatives help shape student consciousness regarding national heritage. PUA continues to foster creative expression that preserves Egyptian heritage while meeting modern artistic standards.
