As part of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology’s interest in community service and environmental development activities, the Faculty’s Community Service and Environmental Development Committee organized a visit to the kindergarten children of Al-Mabarrah Society in Bahri District. This visit came under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu El-Ela, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Rajaa Abdel Qader, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Hamdi Al-Wakeel, Vice Dean.

 

This visit aimed at raising the awareness and education of health care, delivering charitable services to the Alexandrian community, and enhancing PUA’s role in community service.

 

Accordingly, a nutritional screening, health education, measurements recording such as height and weight, and some nutritional tips were given to the children. In addition to nutrition leaflets, various posters, the food pyramid, and how to use it in distributing the food groups as a gift from PUA to the Society.

 

Furthermore, some advice was given on how to wash hands, when to wash them, and how to take care of the teeth. At the end of the visit, gifts were distributed to the children, including balloons, coloring pens, coloring books, and toothbrushes.
