As part of the architecture design course 6 (EA412), 8th semester students of the Architectural Engineering Department conducted a field visit to the streets of downtown Cairo, which includes Tahrir Square, Talaat Harb Square and Street. This study aimed to identify the area and buildings that were developed and renovated by the National Organization for Urban Harmony (NOUH) to maintain their heritage value. The students then went to visit the Sultan Hassan Mosque and School, Al-Rifai Mosque, to examine the architectural value of the historical mosques of Cairo. In addition, they visited to “Beit Yakan” in Al-Darb Al-Ahmar area in Souq Al-Silah Street, which Dr. Alaa Al-Habashi reused it to save it from demolition.
