Reaffirming its role in promoting health and psychological awareness among its students, PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology hosted a seminar to mark World Mental Health Day. The seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Alexandria University, and was attended by Prof. Dr. Sami Erfan, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Ahmed El Kholany, a member of the Faculty’s Community Service Center, alongside numerous faculty members and students. The seminar highlighted the importance of mental health as an essential element of quality of life and its role in supporting students’ academic achievement and personal balance. The lecturer also reviewed the factors affecting mental health and methods for coping with daily stresses, emphasizing the principle of prevention and early support.
The event witnessed wide interaction from students, who participated in open discussions on how to enhance psychological well-being within the university environment, underscoring the importance of such seminars in spreading a culture of self-awareness and attention to mental health. Prof. Dr. Sami Erfan affirmed that celebrating World Mental Health Day reflects PUA’s commitment to building a supportive and balanced university environment that cares for the comprehensive health of students—academically, psychologically, and socially.
