As part of the its plan to support new students for the 2025/2026 academic year, the Basic Sciences Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering organized a critical orientation session to introduce the freshman student to the online learning platforms. The session was a collaboration between the Academic Advising Committee and the Student Activities Committee of the Basic Sciences Department, attended by freshman students, faculty members, and teaching assistants.
The session aimed to train students on using the digital tools essential to PUA’s educational process, including detailed introductions to the following platforms:
- Blackboard Platform: Students were instructed on how to follow the course material for each subject, the mechanism for submitting assignments, and how to attend online exams.
- Power Campus Program: The importance of this program was explained, focusing on how students can track various course activities, including attendance records and midterm grades. Its pivotal role in the course registration process—conducted under the direct supervision of the Academic Advisor—was also clarified.
- Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB): Students were introduced to how to access and register for the Egyptian Knowledge Bank to benefit from its rich research and scientific resources.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, allowing students to ask any questions regarding the digital platforms, underscoring the department’s commitment to facilitating the smooth integration of new students into the digital learning environment.
