Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology Study Program

Students of Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology Study Program, Faculty of Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology participated in the International Online Course for the Bachelor of Science in Radiology Technology – University of Applied Arts Vienna. The course was held under the title, “Computer-aided Surgery and Rapid Prototyping for Radiologists” in Fall 2021 – 2022.

The course discussed the methods used to convert images from CT Scans, MRIs, Sonars, Optical Scanners to three-dimensional models, and print these models with Selective laser sintering (SLS) printers to produce 3D models. These 3D models are to be used in maxillofacial surgeries (Orthopedics and Neurosurgery).

The students showed positive interaction with the stimulating course material. They had the chance to try new software and apply 3D printing in CT scans and MRIs, which would benefit the medical field in complex operations.

Further, certificates of participation were given to the attending students in an event attended by Prof. Dr. Prof. Mahmoud Mohy El-Din, University President, Prof. Dr. Ezzat Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology, and its Faculty Members.
