PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Department organized the “Your Pulse is Life” seminar in celebration of the World Heart Failure Day. The seminar honorably hosted an elite group of cardiology professors in both Alexandria University and Kasr Al-Aini Hospital. These professors included Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sobhi, Cardiology Professor, Alexandria University, and founder of the Cardiovascular Research, Education & Prevention (CVREP), Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Hassanein, Prof. Dr. Amr Zaki, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sadaqa, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, and Prof. Dr. Tarek Al-Khouly.

During the seminar, key heart and circulatory problems, such as hypertension, heart attack, cardiac arrest, arteriosclerosis, symptoms and complications, and prevention methods, were discussed. Treatment methods and healthy foods for heart patients were also shown.

Furthermore, a workshop was held where attendees were shown and trained on how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to help in rescuing a cardiac arrest patient. All these events were attended by the PUA’s President, Vice-Presidents, Trustees, Deans, faculty members, and numerous students from the Faculties of Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, and Applied Health Sciences Technology.
