The CDEC Participated in the BA Round-table Meeting for Promoting Cooperation between Academia and Business Sector:

At the invitation of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Center (CDEC), in collaboration with the team in charge of Francophone Relations at Pharos University, participated in the first round-table meeting held for promoting cooperation between academia and business sector. This meeting was held at Bibliotheca Alexandrina on Wednesday, 25 September 2019. This meeting was part of the activities of the CIPIEE Centre (Centre pour l’Insertion Professionelle, l’Innovation et l’Entrepreneuriat en Egypte) which is specialized in professional integration to support innovation and entrepreneurship. The CDEC delegation was represented in this discussion by the following:

• Dr. Alaa Khalil- the Faculty of Engineering

• Dr. Tamer Sokr- the Faculty of Mass Communication

• Dr. Rania Raouf- the Faculty of Arts and Design

• Dr. Mostafa Shalash- the Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences

• Eng. Amr Mamdouh- the Faculty of Engineering

• Ms. Sara Hussien – a trainer at the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Center (CDEC)

The meeting included discussions about the experiences of the participating parties in the field of entrepreneurship and raising the students’ awareness about self-employment, including the Francophone University Association (L’Agence universitaire de la Francophonie) (AUF), Pharos University, Alexandria University and the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement) (IECD). All the participants stressed the importance of exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of entrepreneurship. During this round-table meeting, all the attendees praised the role of the CDEC and its activities that cope with the vision of Pharos University and its board of trustees. They also applauded the including of a course of entrepreneurship in the curricula of PUA faculties. By the end of this meeting, it was stressed upon the fact that the work in CDEC is nothing but a collective effort that aims at the development of universities in Alexandria.
