Sustainability in Islamic Finance
PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED), in collaboration with the Green Pharos Committee at the Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences, hosted a practical lecture titled “Sustainability in Islamic Finance” as part of the Islamic Finance course. Delivered by Dr. Wael Mostafa, Professor in the Department of Finance and Investment, the session aimed to introduce students to the integration of Sharia principles with economic, social, and environmental impacts in line with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The lecture examined the core principles of Islamic finance and its instruments, such as Sukuk, Murabaha, and Musharaka, showcasing practical models that support sustainable development projects. Students engaged in hands-on applications and financial calculations to enhance their analytical understanding of the field. Conducted via the Blackboard platform, the event concluded with dynamic discussions and the awarding of participation certificates to students in recognition of their active engagement and analytical contributions.
