PUA’s Faculty of Engineering’s team has won the 1st place award in the “Youth Innovations” Competition at the 4th Afro-Asian Forum for Innovations and Technology, held at Petra University in Amman, Jordan. This award went to the Vortex Pharos project, which was a novel bladeless turbine engine.

This project is the first joint graduation project between the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departments, which have contributed with three students each. Further, the project was supervised by Dr. Nabil Rashwan, Lecturer, Mechanical Engineering Department, and Dr. Gamal Mahmoud, Lecturer, Electrical Engineering Department. Due to its astounding success and advanced place, the project was chosen for incubation.
